Most of my drawings and paintings of jazz artists are done from life or from my own photos. Occasionally I find a particularly
catching photo that I am moved to draw from, and I give the original photographer credit if the name is available. The following
two paintings of Ravi Coltrane, sax, are from my own photos, taken with a 35 mm Olympus in Santa Barbara at the Jazz Hall
Club in 1997.

The following image of Billie Holiday was created from a charcoal drawing.
The original photo is one that I greatly admire. I'll have to do some research to find the name of the photographer of
the photo that I copied from.
